TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER, VARIOUS ROADS, DORSET – FOR
‘TOUR OF BRITAIN’ (STAGE 7) 2022
For the purpose of TOUR OF BRITAIN (STAGE 7) 2022, Dorset Council has made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation [Special Events] Act 1994 to;
[1] prohibit the use of the roads described below by cyclists, horse riders and all mechanically propelled vehicles; [2] Impose a clearway to include no waiting, loading or unloading with tow away authorisation on roads described in the table below.
[3] Impose a temporary 40 & 30mph speed limit on roads described in the table below
[4] Impose temporary parking suspensions as described in the table below
All restrictions above apply to all mechanically propelled vehicles, horse riders and cyclists, except those participating in the event; those given exemption by the event organiser or any emergency service vehicles. The Order will not, at any time, prevent access of pedestrians to premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which the order relates, or to any premises only accessible to pedestrians from such a road. The Tour of Britain (Stage 7) will be hosted on 10 September 2022 the restrictions will apply at such times as indicated in the table below, to facilitate the event. The restrictions are required to facilitate traffic flow throughout the duration of the event, and to ensure the safety of all road users and participants affected/taking part in the event.

TEMPORARY 30mph SPEED LIMIT
BOVINGTON LANE, BOVINGTON FOR "TIGER DAY AUTUMN" EVENT
DORSET COUNCIL has issued a Notice under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by
the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991. When this Notice comes into effect on Friday 16th September
2022, a temporary 30 mph speed limit will be imposed upon BOVINGTON LANE, BOVINGTON between the southern
end of the exisiting 30mph speed limt to a point approximately 65 metres east of its junction with Cologne Road, a
distance of approximately 1,300 metres, at such times and to such extent as indicated by the traffic signs. The
Notice is needed to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.
The temporary speed limit will will be in place between Friday 16th September 2022 and Sunday 18th
September 2022 as a traffic management solution to slow down traffic near the entrances / exits to
the temporary car parks for the Tiger Day Autumn event.
The Tank Museum will place temporary signing on the road in this area to inform the travelling public of the speed
limit. The following map shows the extent of the temporary speed limit.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF HOLME LANE, EAST STOKE FOR THE JURASSIC COAST MACMILLAN MIGHTY HIKE
DORSET COUNCIL has issued a Notice under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to prohibit the use of the following roads by cyclists, horse riders and all mechanically propelled vehicles, except those taking part in the event and emergency vehicles, to facilitate a public event on the highway. On Saturday 10 September 2022 between 11:00 and 20:00.

PROPOSED TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BINDON LANE, WOOL, 12th September 2022
Dorset Council have received an application from Openreach to close BINDON LANE, WOOL from the junction with Highwood to
outside Inglewood Farm (in both directions), a distance of approximately 480 metres. The closure has been
requested to provide Openreach with a safe working area to undertake pole tests. These works are programmed to
commence from 09:30, 12th September 2022 until 15:30, 12th September 2022.
Openreach will publicise the road closure in a number of ways: they will place information boards on the road in
this area to inform the travelling public of the works; they will carry out a letter drop to local residents directly
affected by the works; and they will sign a vehicular diversion route using the local road network. The
following map shows the extent of the closure and the diversion route.
